UX Researcher $$$$

We’re seeking an experienced UX Researcher to work on a new initiative adapting an existing UI to a new context. This role requires someone who can influence product and design direction through research, working across discovery and rapid evaluation to help the team decide what to do, what to change, and why. This is not a report-and-move on role; the researcher will actively shape decisions, challenge assumptions, and turn insight into action. The client is a British multinational enterprise software company.

Key Responsibilities

 Lead discovery research to uncover user needs, behaviours, constraints, and friction in a new context.

 Use insights and data to influence problem framing and align priorities with product, design, and engineering.

 Facilitate synthesis with the team to map and prioritise opportunities to innovate.

 Deliver rapid evaluative research to test and iterate emerging concepts.

 Communicate insights clearly and persuasively to influence decisions at team and stakeholder level.

Skills & Experience Required

 Experience across discovery, ideation, and evaluative UX research.

 Proven track record of influencing and shaping product and design decisions using research evidence.

 Strong synthesis, problem-framing, and communication skills.

 Able to work autonomously while embedded in multidisciplinary teams.

Expected Behaviours

 Outcome-focused, measuring success through better decisions and clearer direction.

 Comfortable working with ambiguity and guiding teams through uncertainty.

 Proactive and collaborative, stepping into conversations where decisions are being made.

 Willing to challenge assumptions constructively and confidently.

 Pragmatic, balancing rigour with pace and delivery needs.

What Success Looks Like

 The team has clear alignment on key user problems and constraints in the new context.

 Opportunities to innovate are identified, mapped, prioritised, and acted on with the wider team.

 Product and design direction demonstrably changes as a result of research-led insight.

 Decisions about adapting or rethinking existing UI patterns are confident and evidence-based.

 Research reduces uncertainty and enables faster, more focused decision-making.

 The researcher is recognised as a key decision-shaper and influencer within the team.

Nice to Have

 Working knowledge of UK payroll concepts.

 Experience adapting products or services to new contexts or new initiatives.
