Chief Accountant (FinTech)

We are looking for a strong professional who will ensure accurate accounting and tax compliance in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements, minimize tax and legal risks, and maintain financial transparency across the company. Responsibilities:

• Lead the accounting function for a group of 3 international legal entities. Ensure completeness and accuracy of local accounting, tax reporting, and period closing for each entity. Coordinate local accountants and outsourcing providers in Canada, Poland, and the USA.
• Organize and oversee accounting, tax, and management reporting across the group.
• Prepare monthly management reports for the group and individual entities. Ensure timely month-, quarter-, and year-end closing.
• Participate in the preparation of consolidated financial statements.
• Develop accounting policies and methodologies for key business areas. Create, update, and implement internal regulations, accounting procedures, and process guidelines.
• Plan and monitor the company’s monthly financial performance (revenue, sales, expenses, and profit).
• Control cash flow, liabilities, settlements with counterparties, and accuracy of transaction recording.
• Prepare financial data and reports upon request from banks, partners, providers, and management.
• Interact with auditors, banks, payment partners, legal advisors, and compliance teams.
• Support tax and audit inspections, including preparation of documentation and explanations.
• Optimize taxation within the framework of applicable legislation and business structure.
• Participate in automation of accounting and management reporting, including integration with payment and operational systems.
• Prepare analytical materials, breakdowns, and explanations of financial results.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a Chief Accountant / Deputy Chief Accountant in fintech or payment organizations.
• Higher education in accounting / finance.
• Proven experience in preparing financial, tax, management, and statistical reporting.
• Experience working with regulatory and tax authorities.
• Team management experience.
• Understanding of fintech/payment business specifics.
• English level B1+, Russian – conversational.
