Data Engineer / DevOps /Infrastructure Specialist

About the Role
We are looking for a Data Engineer with strong DevOps and infrastructure expertise to work on building and maintaining scalable data platforms and cloud environments. The role combines data engineering, cloud infrastructure management, and DevOps practices within the Azure ecosystem.

Requirements

Must have:

• Strong understanding of data modeling (data warehouses and transactional systems)
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, Python, PowerShell, and MS SQL Server / T-SQL
• Experience with Terraform, ARM templates, YAML, and Azure cloud services (App Services, Application Gateway, Azure Firewall, Routing, API Management)
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, Windows Server administration, scaling, disaster recovery, and backup/restore processes
• Familiarity with identity and security protocols (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, Azure Entra ID)
• Experience working with SQL Server, Kusto Query Language, Gremlin Query Language, and Azure Artifacts
• Strong knowledge of Azure data stack: Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Cosmos DB
• Experience with DevOps practices including CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and optimization of data pipelines
• Proficiency with tools such as Azure DevOps, Git, Visual Studio
• Experience working with Windows and Azure environments
• Agile/Scrum experience

Nice to have:

• Experience with Power BI for data visualization
• Familiarity with SaaS solutions and Managed Identities
• Advanced PowerShell scripting (e.g., DSC)

Responsibilities

• Design and build data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks
• Develop and maintain data models for both transactional and analytical use cases
• Work with Azure-based infrastructure (IaaS and PaaS)
• Perform schema evolution and data migrations
• Optimize ETL processes and overall data workflows
• Automate and provision infrastructure using PowerShell, ARM templates, and Terraform
• Maintain and improve existing applications and DevOps infrastructure
• Troubleshoot cloud services and resolve technical issues
• Implement security practices and monitoring across cloud and DevOps environments
• Design and configure network infrastructure and reliability solutions
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps
• Participate in deployment processes and keep documentation up to date
• Ensure adherence to best practices in operations, backup, scaling, and disaster recovery
