UI/UX Designer / Product owner

ITG Verified Employer Responds Quickly

A Growing Company is building a database optimization tool and is looking for a Product and UI/UX Designerst who can also help shape intuitive, high-quality UI/UX for enterprise-level, data-intensive applications. The main focus is on translating product and user needs into clear requirements, strong user flows, wireframes, mockups, and practical interface designs that make complex information easier to understand and use.
The selected candidate will work closely with the Product Manager and engineering team, gain exposure to roadmap and backlog thinking, and gradually grow toward broader product ownership responsibilities as the product and team evolve.
Growth Path: Strong performers in this role can grow into broader Product Owner responsibilities as they demonstrate product judgment, prioritization skills, and the ability to drive delivery across stakeholders.

What You Will Own

1. UI/UX Design for Enterprise Data Applications
• Design user flows, screen logic, and interface structures for an enterprise-level, data-intensive software product.
• Create wireframes, mockups, annotated screens, and UX artifacts that clarify how the product should work.
• Design UI elements for dashboards, drill-down views, filters, workflows, configuration screens, data tables, forms, and insight views.
• Help transform complex technical and data-heavy concepts into interfaces that are intuitive, efficient, and easy to navigate.
• Improve usability by identifying friction points, simplifying steps, and creating cleaner end-to-end user journeys.

2. Business Analysis and Requirements Development

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for new features, enhancements, and usability improvements.
• Translate stakeholder discussions and product direction into clear functional requirements, user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Identify gaps, assumptions, dependencies, edge cases, and process issues before development begins.
• Maintain structured product documentation so engineering and QA have a reliable source of truth.
3. Product Support and Product Owner Path
• Partner with the Product Manager on feature clarification, backlog inputs, and requirement refinement.
• Contribute to sprint planning, backlog grooming, demos, and release discussions as needed.
• Develop product thinking and prioritization skills over time as part of a clear path toward a future Product Owner role.
• This role is expected to support product ownership activities selectively rather than serve as the primary Product Owner today.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with the Product Manager, engineering, QA, and other stakeholders.
• Participate in requirement walkthroughs, design discussions, demos, and iterative product refinement.
• Help QA validate that delivered functionality matches defined requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in Business Analysis, UI/UX design, Product Analysis, Functional Analysis, or a similar software product role.
• Demonstrated ability to design UI/UX for enterprise-level, data-intensive applications.
• Experience creating wireframes, mockups, user flows, screen definitions, and annotated UI requirements.
• Experience writing business requirements, functional requirements, user stories, workflows, and acceptance criteria.
• Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Experience with Figma or similar design tools.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with product, engineering, QA, and other stakeholders.
• Strong analytical thinking, organization, and written communication skills.
• Ability to utilize AI effectively in day-to-day work, including research, requirements drafting, analysis, ideation, design support, and workflow efficiency.

Preferred Background

• General understanding of databases and their basic functions.
• Basic SQL knowledge.
• Experience working on technical SaaS products, monitoring tools, database tools, DevOps tools, analytics tools, or other infrastructure-related products.
• Good English is a plus.

What Success Looks Like

• User flows and interface designs reduce ambiguity and improve usability for data-heavy workflows.
• Requirements are clear, structured, and ready for engineering execution.
• Design artifacts help the team move faster and make better product decisions.
• Cross-functional teams have confidence in scope, experience design, and delivery expectations.
• The role grows naturally toward broader product ownership over time.

Working Style

• Startup-style environment with high ownership, strong collaboration, and a bias toward clarity and action.
• Remote contractor role with the possibility of either full-time or part-time engagement.
• Competitive compensation.
