Senior UX Designer – Experience Architecture (Complex Applications)
The Role
Our app is packed with powerful features, but users complain it's confusing: they get lost, don't know the next step, and navigate too many places. We need a senior UX strategist (not a UI/visual designer) who excels at turning dense, overwhelming products into clear, guided, intuitive experiences.
This is a high-impact role focused on fixing core confusion through better information architecture, navigation, flows, and progressive disclosure. You’ll own the experience strategy end-to-end.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze current journeys to pinpoint confusion, lost users, and excessive navigation.
- Redesign IA, navigation, user flows, and guidance so users always know what to do next.
- Create wireframes, interaction models, and prototypes focused on structure and behavior (not visuals).
- Raise overall UX maturity and mentor where needed.
Must-Haves
- 6+ years UX design experience, with 3+ years on complex, feature-heavy SaaS/web/mobile apps (enterprise tools, dashboards, creative suites—not simple websites).
- Strong portfolio with case studies showing simplification of confusing products: before/after flows, reduced steps, clearer guidance, and measurable improvements (task success, time-on-task, etc.). Include process and research—not just final screens.
- Expertise in: information architecture, user flow design, progressive disclosure, wayfinding, onboarding for dense products.
- Proven user research & testing skills to drive structural changes.
Ability to explain/defend strategic UX decisions to stakeholders.
We don’t need
Visual/UI polish—you won’t be primarily doing interfaces or aesthetics.
Nice-to-Haves
- B2B/enterprise experience with “tons of functionality.”
Systems thinking or service design background.
Why This Role?

This is a contracted project-based position and has been listed as part-time. All work is 100% remote.
