We are looking for a Project Manager (part-time) for the Discovery and Development Phase. 

 

Client & Project Overview:

The client is based in the United States and aims to deliver a platform for movie and TV show ratings and recommendations. Our team worked on an earlier version of this product around four or five years ago, but it was never released. Now the client wants to rebuild the platform from scratch using modern technologies and design approaches.

 

Discovery Phase Overview:

The Project Manager will lead the Discovery Phase, focusing on defining the product vision, ensuring technical architecture is defined and documented, and building an implementation roadmap. This phase will involve coordinating with the client and internal team, managing risks, and ensuring the timely delivery of the expected deliverables.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Discovery Phase and subsequent development phase of the project.
  • Ensure project alignment with business and technical objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to organize and track the work.
  • Develop and maintain the project plan, including timelines and milestones.
  • Work with the team to define the scope, risks, and provide mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure the project stays on track, within budget, and on time.
  • Regularly report on project progress and key metrics to stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular 1-on-1 sessions with team members.
  • Participate in regular performance review sessions providing manager’s feedback.

During the implementation phase (after discovery), support on BA activities:

  • Gathering functional and non-functional requirements, conducting requirements workshops.
  • Defining priorities with the stakeholders.

     

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience as a Project Manager in software or product development.
  • Experience working on the Discovery phases of projects.
  • Experience managing small to mid-sized teams (5-10 people).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with both internal and client teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
  • Strong experience with project planning, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Upper-intermediate or advanced level of written and spoken English.

     

Additional Notes:

The candidate will also be considered for upcoming projects within the company, depending on the results of the Discovery Phase and availability for future engagements.
