Financial Manager

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Manager - someone who does not just record numbers, but owns the financial story of the company. You will be the go-to person for everything finance: from day-to-day bookkeeping hygiene to forward-looking planning and cash-flow strategy.

Key Responsibilities
 

Core Accounting, Reporting & Financial Management

• Full-cycle bookkeeping (AP, AR, bank reconciliations)

• Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements preparation

• Monitoring cash flow and preparing cash flow forecasts

• Budgeting and variance analysis (tracking actuals vs plan and explaining variances)

• Monitoring gross margin and identifying cost-optimization opportunities

• Ensuring financial data is properly categorized, documented, and audit-ready

• Managing HST filings and compliance with CRA requirements
 

Financial Planning & Strategic Support

• Building and maintaining a clear and transparent financial structure for internal reporting

• Providing regular financial insights and performance summaries to leadership to support decision-making

• Identifying potential liquidity risks and proposing corrective actions

• Communicating with clients on billing, invoicing, or financial-related questions when required

• Preparing clear financial summaries and recommendations for management
 

Operational Accounting & Process Management

• Payroll bookings and reconciliation

• Managing fixed assets (equipment, trucks, machinery depreciation)

• Tracking equipment expenses and maintenance costs

• Assisting with year-end preparation and coordination with external CPA

• Improving financial processes and internal controls

• Implementing and optimizing accounting software (QuickBooks Online)

 

Qualifications

 

• 3+ years of experience in accounting, financial management, or FP&A

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software

• Advanced Excel skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Experience working in small-to-mid-size growing businesses

• Experience working with international teams or multi-currency environments
• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
 

Additional Qualifications

• Experience managing accounts receivable and accounts payable processes

• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling

• Ability to manage company finances end-to-end in a small or mid-size business environment

• Experience building or improving financial processes and reporting structures

• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and operate with minimal supervision

• Upper-Intermediate English or higher, including written client communication
 

Additional Skills

• Knowledge of Canadian tax regulations (HST, payroll, CRA compliance)

• Excellent organizational and communication skills
