About
Hi, Iโm Bohdan.
Iโm building a proprietary trading desk focused on systematic strategies across multiple asset classes.
We are looking for a Quantitative Researcher interested in understanding how markets actually work, identifying structural inefficiencies, and validating ideas using large-scale market data.
This is a research role, not a model-tuning or generic ML position. The focus is on market mechanics, microstructure, and trading signals grounded in real market behaviour.
What youโll do
- Explore large trading datasets to identify potential structural inefficiencies
- Formulate research hypotheses grounded in market mechanics
- Investigate market microstructure effects (order book dynamics, latency effects, liquidity behaviour)
- Analyse price behaviour across instruments and exchanges
- Design and run backtests to evaluate trading signals
- Analyse strategy performance and identify failure modes
- Communicate research results clearly and defend conclusions under technical scrutiny
Requirements
- Strong understanding of market microstructure (crypto markets preferred)
- Strong analytical thinking and ability to reason about market behaviour
- Solid foundations in probability and statistics
- Strong Python for research workflows (working with large datasets)
- Ability to formulate and defend research hypotheses
- Comfortable discussing ideas under technical scrutiny
- Ability to work B2B
- Legal right to provide services (no visa sponsorship)
Nice to have
- Knowledge of stochastic calculus, continuous optimisation, statistical inference
- Familiarity with machine learning applied to financial data
- Experience contributing to trading systems (Rust / low-latency environments)
- Availability for occasional Warsaw / London meetups
Compensation
Flexible depending on scope and contribution:
- hourly rate, or
- fixed compensation per research project / deliverable
Long-term collaboration is possible if the fit is strong.
Selection process
1. Practical research task
2. Screening Interwiew
3. Quant Research Interview I (Probability & Statistics)
4. On-site Quant Research Interview II (Toy Research + Big data) at Rondo Dashynskiego or Chancery Lane.
