The Role
We are seeking a Functional Analyst to join our innovative Product department.
In this role, you will act as a strategic bridge between business needs and technical execution, ensuring that our Reporting (Dashboarding & Data Exploration) and Data Import modules effectively support our customers’ analytical and operational goals.
You will work cross-functionally with Product Managers, Engineers, Designers, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into clear, actionable insights and deliver impactful data-driven product improvements.
We offer a consultancy engagement, not an employment contract. The selected consultant will work independently, bringing their specialized knowledge and experience to our projects.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the Product Manager to translate business requirements into actionable user stories and technical specifications.
- Maintain and continuously refine the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business priorities, team capacity and priority agreed with PM.
- Participate actively in all Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives) to support smooth delivery and clear communication.
- Bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation, ensuring that development outcomes meet functional requirements.
- Keep all product and process documentation accurate, up to date, and easily accessible for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Work cross-functionally with Customer Success, Design, Sales and other teams to gather feedback, clarify requirements, and ensure a consistent product vision.
- Support the development team in understanding the business context and expected outcomes of new features or improvements.
- Analyze and validate functional requirements, identifying dependencies, risks, and potential impacts on existing systems.
- Assist in user acceptance testing (UAT) and help ensure that deliverables meet business and quality expectations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of Agile processes and product development workflows.
This role will be a great fit if you have:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Marketing, or a related field.
- 3-4 years of experience as a Business Analyst / Functional Analyst, preferably within SaaS or advertising technology domains.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proven track record in data-informed decision-making.
- Experience working in Agile environments alongside product and engineering teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical insights for business audiences.
- Working knowledge of digital marketing, advertising platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Ads, DSPs), and resource optimization is highly desirable
- Proficiency with Atlassian tools including Jira Cloud, Confluence, and Jira Product Discovery.
- Understanding of feature slicing patterns and backlog refinement best practices.
Interview Process
Candidates can expect the following steps in our interview process:
- HR Video Interview (30 minutes): A virtual interview with HR to provide an overview of the company and the role, as well as to gain insight into your experience and background
- Technical Interview with Hiring Manager (45 minutes): a virtual video interview focused on the technical aspects of the role, where the hiring manager will dive into your specific skills and experience
- Interview with Head of Department/other key individuals (1 hour, if feasible in-person): an interview with the Head of Department or other key individuals relevant to the role, such as team members or colleagues from other departments. This will give you a broader perspective on the position (and an opportunity to visit the office).
