Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain email deliverability: track domain reputation, IP reputation, and overall sender scores to ensure optimal inbox placement.
  • Analyze email campaign performance: review open rates, click-through rates, bounces, and unsubscribes to identify trends and ensure performance growth across key metrics.
  • Technical troubleshooting: identify and resolve issues related to blacklisting, spam traps, and bounce management.
  • Manage email infrastructure: oversee IP warm-up strategies, email service provider (ESP) relationships, and domain authentication.
  • Lead template strategy: own the vision for design and code execution of email templates.
  • Build automated journeys: design and implement segmented, automated customer journeys and conversion-driven drip campaigns.
  • Mentor team members: provide guidance to a small team of retention/email specialists.
  • Ensure compliance: maintain adherence to GDPR, CAN-SPAM, and other relevant regulations.
  • Drive innovation: stay ahead of industry best practices and introduce new tools, tactics, and frameworks to the team.
     

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in email marketing or retention marketing.
  • Background in high-risk verticals (e.g., finance, iGaming, dating, adult, etc.) with a strong understanding of inboxing challenges.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure design for high-scale email sending: ESPs (SendGrid, AWS SES, etc.), IP warm-up, domain pools, DNS (SPF/DKIM/DMARC), feedback loops.
  • Proven experience improving inbox placement and engagement metrics.
  • Experience with ESP tools such as Optimove or Customer.io.
  • Hands-on experience with other direct channels such as SMS and app push.
  • Confident in crafting user communications to achieve various goals and understanding product metrics.
