Product Owner (B2B SaaS)
Location: Fully Remote (Europe / CET Timezone overlap required)
The Role
We are looking for a highly analytical Product Owner to become the right hand to our Head of Product.
Because 95% of our user base is Dutch, our Head of Product focuses heavily on customer discovery, overarching strategy, and market feedback. Your mission is to own the internal execution and capture the business value.
You will master the complex logic of our tachograph platform, bridge the gap between product strategy and our development team, and act as a ruthless gatekeeper to ensure we are only building what truly matters.
You will work closely with our Head of Product, CTO, and a talented team of 6 full-stack developers (local and remote) and 4 QA engineers.
What You Will Do
- Master the Domain: Proactively learn the deep technical logic of our SaaS platform, data analytics, and EU tachograph legislation to become our absolute internal product expert.
- Translate Strategy to Execution: Translate high-level Epics from the Head of Product into flawlessly detailed user stories and acceptance criteria, ensuring every ticket clearly captures the underlying business value and solves a real user pain.
- Internal Gatekeeping: Act as the primary filter for product feedback from internal colleagues (Sales, Support). You will apply problem-focused qualification to dig to the root cause of requests before anything touches the backlog.
- Backlog Structuring for Strategy: Group and organize the Jira backlog by current business goals (e.g., churn prevention, upselling) to enable the Head of Product to easily make high-level prioritization decisions. Within those strategic groups, you ruthlessly filter the "must-haves" from the "nice-to-haves".
- Release Scheduling & Iterative Delivery: Own sprint prioritization to maximize development efficiency. You know how to slice a complex, multi-sprint Epic so that the very first sprint yields a standalone, releasable increment that immediately delivers business value, rather than waiting weeks for a monolithic release.
- Autonomous UX Decisions: Make smart, independent decisions for functional implementations and UI/UX flows based on general B2B SaaS best practices, without needing deep customer interviews or hand-holding from the Head of Product.
- Product Analytics & Optimization: Define, set up, and track product analytics (PostHog, MS Clarity, Google Analytics) to identify adoption trends and friction points.
- Internal Product Expert: Serve as the go-to technical point of contact for our sales and customer support teams. You will answer complex product questions and collaborate with support and marketing to translate new features into clear, user-friendly knowledge base articles, release notes, and product manuals.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: 4+ years as a Product Owner or Product Manager in a fast-paced B2B SaaS environment.
- Problem-Space Thinker: You don't just build what people ask for. You know how to interrogate internal stakeholders to find the actual pain point behind a feature request and assess its true business value.
- Technical & UX Aptitude: Strong understanding of modern software development, API logic, and standard SaaS UX patterns.
- User-story expert: You write exceptional user stories. Developers rarely have to ask you "what happens if this/that?" because you have already defined it
- Proactive Communicator: Fluent English speaker who manages their own time flawlessly and isn't afraid to push back on non-strategic requests.
- AI Curiosity: You are excited by an AI-first culture and are comfortable using modern AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) to accelerate spec writing and product management.
- Bonus: Previous exposure to or affinity with logistics, transport, or compliance software.
