Data Engineer (SQL-Focused/Azure)

🚀 About the Project

We are looking for a SQL-focused Data Engineer to join a large-scale data initiative involving terabyte-level datasets and 20+ billion records.

This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives on database architecture, deep SQL optimization, and high-performance data processing in cloud environments. You will play a ключову роль in designing and optimizing Azure SQL infrastructure that directly supports critical business operations.

Engagement model: Long-term outstaff collaboration

Your Responsibilities:

• Design and implement highly optimized Azure SQL Server databases for massive datasets (20B+ records)
• Write, refactor, and optimize complex SQL queries, indexes, and stored procedures
• Ensure high-performance data processing and storage efficiency
• Integrate SQL logic with backend services built on .NET and Azure
• Participate in data migration, transformation, and data cleansing within ETL pipelines
• Troubleshoot, test, and continuously improve SQL performance for large-scale workloads
   

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Azure SQL Server and large dataset management
• Strong expertise in SQL performance tuning and query optimization
• Proven experience working with high-volume data (billions of records)
• Solid understanding of ETL processes and cloud-based data management
• Experience integrating database logic with backend systems
• Analytical mindset and ability to diagnose complex performance bottlenecks

 Nice to Have:

• Experience with data partitioning strategies and indexing at scale
• Background in cloud infrastructure optimization

• Experience in data migration or legacy system modernization
