Key responsibilities
 

• Design, build, and maintain performant backend services in TypeScript
• Support and optimize production-ready backend systems
• Integrate and manage services like PostgreSQL, MySQL, AWS SQS, and Centrifugo
• Collaborate with the lead AI backend engineer to integrate with our AI infrastructure
• Ensure high system reliability, security, and observability across services
• Own and drive end-to-end feature development with a strong eye on user experience
• Champion clean code, technical excellence, and continuous improvement
   

Must-have Requirements
 

• 6.5+ years of backend development experience
• Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript
• Experience with functional programming
• Deep experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and service-based architectures
• Proven ability to work independently while collaborating closely with key teammates
• Passion for building systems that deliver exceptional customer experiences
• Conversational English at level B2+
   

Nice-to-have Requirements
 

• Familiarity with genomics, health data, or personalization systems
• Startup or fast-paced environment experience
• Familiar with Rust
• Work with OpenAI APIs and other AI frameworks to build intelligent, personalized user experiences
