As an Embedded Video Engineer, you will contribute to the development of advanced video transmission solutions used in high-tech and mission-critical products. You will design and optimize end-to-end video pipelines โ€” from camera sensor to final playback โ€” ensuring the best possible balance between quality, latency, and bandwidth.

Responsibilities:

Design and optimize video path of Camera โ€“ Encoder โ€“ Transmission (USB, IP, RF) โ€“ Decoder - Player via:

  • Camera codecs selection and configuration (Rate control, Encoder Presets, Frame buffering, etc.);
  • Compatibility issues resolving;
  • Design verification, bring up;
  • Technical parameters comparison for finding quality/bandwidth tradeoffs, experimenting with setups, preparing POCs for further scaling for manufacture;
  • Documenting outcomes of experiments, providing highlights and recommendations for proper operation of the proposed design.
  • Contribute to the strategy for development of video products via providing information for roadmap preparation and risks assessment.
     

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of GStreamer (multimedia pipelines, multi-streaming);
  • Hands-on experience with camera encoder configuration (H.264/H.265, alternatives), including slices, ROI, dynamic QP/bitrate control;
  • Experience configuring video decoders on the receiver side;
  • Deep understanding of networking and transport protocols (TCP, UDP, RTP/RTSP, etc.);
  • Knowledge of video containerization, slicing, and packaging for transmission;
  • Experience with Embedded Linux for video systems (low-latency pipelines, driver design, interrupt optimization, DMA);
  • Experience with camera integration and system-level video architecture design;
     

Nice to Have:

  • Understanding of RF video transmission (noise resilience, anti-jamming techniques, obstacle/blockage mitigation);
  • Experience with vendor-specific hardware and hybrid encoders;
  • Familiarity with streaming technologies such as WebRTC;
  • Knowledge of MIPI CSI interfaces;
  • Experience applying AI/ML technologies in video systems.
