Senior 3D Environment Artist

We are looking for a highly skilled 3D Environment Artist to completely redesign and rebuild game levels at modern, high-fidelity quality.

These levels were originally created in 2011 and must now be reimagined with contemporary detail, strong artistic direction, optimized geometry, and real-time browser performance in mind.

This is not a minor polish pass โ€” we want a dramatic visual upgrade.

 

๐ŸŽฎ The Project

We are rebuilding a former #1 iOS app with over 7 million downloads โ€” as a modern game featuring unique 3D environments.

Each level is themed around a real-world-inspired location, including:

  • Circus
  • City park
  • Las Vegas strip
  • Egyptian pyramids
  • Active volcano
  • Niagara Falls
  • And more

In each level, the player walks on a tightrope high above the ground between two endpoint structures.

The visual bar is high: modern HD quality, rich detail, strong atmosphere, and optimized performance.

Each level must include:

  • Two endpoint structures (start & end platforms)
  • Empty space between them (we add the rope in code)
  • Ground / terrain below
  • Background scenery
  • Props
  • Sky treatment

 

Do NOT include:

  • Character
  • Rope
  • Projectiles
  • UI
  • Particles
  • Baked lighting

Format .glb (glTF binary)

Source File - Blender (.blend) preferred

Triangles - 80kโ€“120k per level (150k hard max)

Materials - Maximum 8

Textures - Max 2048ร—2048

Maps - PBR (albedo, normal, roughness/metallic)

Scale - 1 unit = 1 meter

Lighting - Do NOT bake (handled in engine)

Origin - (0,0,0) = rope starting point

Axis - Rope runs along +Z, Up = +Y

Must be optimized for:

  • Three.js (WebGL2)
  • Apple SceneKit

Minimize materials and draw calls โ€” use texture atlases wherever possible.

  • Strong experience in high-quality stylized or semi-realistic environments
  • Deep understanding of optimization for WebGL / real-time rendering
  • Excellent Blender workflow
  • Strong PBR texturing knowledge
  • Clean topology and efficient scene management
  • Ability to dramatically elevate legacy content to modern standards
