Senior PHP Engineer (Symfony)

We are looking for an experienced PHP Symfony Engineer to join a product-focused engineering team building a web-based food & beverage ordering platform. The system operates at enterprise scale and integrates with payment providers, POS systems, and hospitality partners, alongside native mobile applications (iOS & Android).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using PHP (Symfony)
• Design and implement integrations with external systems (payments, POS, third-party partners)
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Collaborate with product management on roadmap-driven development
• Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and architecture decisions
• Ensure performance, reliability, and security of backend services
• Support ongoing improvements and refactoring of existing codebase

Requirements (Must-have)

• Strong commercial experience with PHP and Symfony
• Experience building and maintaining production-grade web applications
• Solid understanding of REST APIs and backend integrations
• Experience working in cross-functional product teams
• Ability to communicate clearly and work autonomously in a distributed setup

• Recent, hands-on coding experience (active in the last 3–6 months)

   

Nice to Have

• Basic knowledge of React / JavaScript (frontend is not deeply tested; fundamentals are sufficient)
• Experience with high-load or enterprise systems
• Familiarity with payment systems, POS integrations, or hospitality platforms
• Experience working with native mobile teams (iOS / Android) on shared APIs"
