Business analyst

Come Back Agency supports US software and technology companies by running their hiring process. We work with delivery and leadership teams to define roles, screen candidates, and manage interviews. Successful candidates are hired directly by the company and become part of its team.
 

This position is with a US-based software company providing custom development and AI implementation for North American clients. The team builds and maintains production software, including AI-enabled systems, and works in long-term client engagements. Team members operate as part of an internal, distributed team and collaborate directly with client stakeholders.
 

*Advanced English is required. You must be able to communicate clearly in English with the US team in writing and on calls, explain your analysis, and defend recommendations
 

About the role:

This is not a client-facing role. You will analyze our numbers, benchmark competitors, and turn insights into weekly actions. Your goal is to help us get more qualified leads, improve conversion rates, and increase profit per project.
 

What you will do

  • Marketing and competitor intelligence
  • Track where competitors get leads and what channels they invest in, including Clutch, LinkedIn, SEO, paid ads, communities, partnerships, and marketplaces
  • Analyze competitor positioning, offers, pricing signals, case studies, and landing page patterns
  • Build a competitor dashboard and update it weekly or biweekly with changes, new campaigns, and new content
  • Recommend practical experiments we can run based on competitor patterns and gaps
  • Lead and pipeline analytics
  • Create a single view of leads across website, PPC, LinkedIn, referrals, and outbound
  • Report weekly on lead volume, lead quality, response time, booked calls, proposals sent, close rate, and cycle length
  • Identify bottlenecks and propose fixes, like targeting changes, offer changes, follow up sequences, and landing page improvements
  • Work with the team to keep tracking clean, including UTMs and source attribution
  • Profitability and delivery analytics
  • Analyze project profitability by client, service line, tech stack, team mix, and project type
  • Track margin, burn vs budget, change requests, rework signals, and delivery risk patterns
  • Recommend how to price and package projects to protect margin, including phased scopes and standard inclusions and exclusions
  • Build a simple monthly profitability report leadership can use to make decisions fast
  • Reporting and decision support
  • Turn messy data into clean data, define standard fields, and maintain the reporting system
     

Requirements

  • Strong analytical experience in a growth, strategy, ops, or finance analytics role
  • Excellent spreadsheet skills and comfort working with imperfect data
  • Ability to research competitors and synthesize insights into clear actions
  • Comfort with marketing metrics and basic sales funnel math
  • Strong written communication, concise and clear
     

Nice to have

  • Experience with B2B services, agencies, or software consulting
  • Experience with tools like GA4, Looker Studio, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Airtable, Notion, or similar
