About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Head of Risk Management to lead and develop the risk function within a fast-growing microfinance company. The role involves strategic leadership, portfolio risk control, data-driven decision-making, and close collaboration with other departments to ensure financial stability and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

 • Set goals and objectives for the risk management team; monitor execution and evaluate performance.

 • Recruit, train, onboard, and develop team members.

 • Prepare and present reports and assess their impact on the company’s financial stability.

 • Monitor the credit portfolio, analyze default rates and profitability, and implement improvement measures.

 • Collaborate with other departments to minimize operational and credit risks.

 • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the credit scoring system; ensure its relevance and accuracy.

 • Evaluate the effectiveness of automation systems and DSS (Decision Support Systems); regularly update and improve algorithms.

 • Track market trends and implement modern automation, analytics, and forecasting models.

 • Design data visualizations (dashboards, reports) for clear and effective communication.

 • Develop and control KPIs to assess department performance (default rate reduction, application processing time, error minimization, etc.).

Requirements

 • Experience in banks or financial institutions.

 • Strong Excel skills.

 • Data Science & Machine Learning skills (working with large datasets).

 • Strong analytical mindset.

 • Ability to work effectively in a team.

 • Stress resistance and a high level of analytical thinking.
