Lead Architect / Technical Lead

We are looking for a Lead Architect / Technical Lead based in LATAM or the EU to define and drive the technical architecture of a modern e-commerce platform. You will lead migration from a legacy monolithic system to a scalable headless architecture and guide the team through implementation.

The project will use Next.js or Nuxt (final choice TBD). We need a framework-agnostic architect with deep experience in modern meta-frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the architecture of a headless e-commerce platform
• Lead replatforming from a legacy system with minimal business disruption
• Evaluate and influence framework selection (Next.js vs Nuxt)
• Make architecture decisions based on scalability, maintainability, and cost
• Translate architectural vision into actionable tasks for the team
• Mentor developers and establish coding standards
• Act as the main technical point of contact for stakeholders
• Lead technical planning, SSR/ISR strategies, edge computing, and performance optimization

Requirements

• 3+ years of production experience with Next.js, Nuxt, or similar meta-frameworks (Remix, SvelteKit)
• Deep knowledge of SSR, ISR, routing, and caching strategies
• 5+ years of experience with React or Vue in production environments
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript
• Proven experience leading e-commerce migrations from legacy or custom platforms to headless solutions
• Experience designing architecture within PaaS constraints and integrating third-party services (payments, fulfillment, marketing tools)
• Strong knowledge of modern tooling: Vite, Turbopack, Webpack, Tailwind CSS
• Hands-on experience with Vercel, Netlify, or Cloudflare, including deployment and Core Web Vitals optimization
• Proven technical leadership experience: mentoring developers and leading complex migrations

• Experience with both React and Vue ecosystems
• Framework evaluation and decision-making experience
• Serverless and edge architecture
• Phased migration strategies, feature flags, rollback planning
• State management libraries (TanStack Query, Zustand, Pinia)
• Performance optimization in production e-commerce systems
