COO (Chief Operating Officer/iGaming)

We build scalable and secure payment processing at the intersection of technology and finance, working with complex payment flows and challenging geographies.
Role Mission
To ensure stable, scalable, and secure operations of the AvePay P2P payment service.
This role is responsible for building the operational infrastructure, managing antifraud and risk processes, overseeing merchant and user operations, controlling operational KPIs, and leading day-to-day execution across teams.
Key Responsibilities
P2P Operations
- Own the full P2P operational flow
- Control internal gateway performance
- Maintain SLA for transaction speed and success rate
- Monitor fees, liquidity allocation, and operational efficiency
Risk & Antifraud
- Implement monitoring and antifraud tools
- Adapt risk rules per geography
- Minimize chargebacks, cancellations, and account blocks
- Handle operational incidents and escalations
Operational Processes
- Build and optimize operational workflows and policies (Support / Disputes)
- Ensure 24/7 operational coverage
Team Management
- Hire, onboard, and manage the operations team
- Build operational and financial units
- Develop motivation models and control team KPIs
- Manage teams of 10+ people
Platform & Product
- Define operational requirements for product and development teams
- Drive automation of P2P processes (matching, limits, liquidity allocation)
- Monitor platform stability and participate in roadmap planning
Financial Control
- Daily reconciliations
- Control float, turnover, fees, and P&L
- Prepare operational reporting for CEO / Board
Requirements
- Experience as COO / Head of Operations / Head of Payments in fintech or payment services
- Deep understanding of P2P payment ecosystems, liquidity management, and trader operations
- Experience with high-risk verticals (iGaming, Betting, Crypto) is a strong plus
- Strong operational leadership skills and ability to work in a fast-paced 24/7 environment
Proven experience managing teams of 10+ people
