Billing Operations Manager

A-Players is looking for a Billing Operations Manager to join our Billing team and build and own the payment analytics and operational data foundation, launch reconciliation from scratch, and drive fees & cost transparency across multiple PSPs. You’ll work closely with the Head of Payments, Analytics, Engineering, and Finance to improve approval rates, processing stability, and overall payment costs -  with a direct impact on revenue and the company’s risk profile.

Responsibilities

  • Own payment analytics and the operational data layer (payments & billing)
  • Building and developing reconciliation processes, fee and cost analysis, payment operations, and risk alerting
  • Monitoring payment approval rates, processing stability, and overall payment costs
  • Ensuring transparency of payment data for Payments, Finance, and the business
  • Define data and table requirements and setting tasks for the Data Engineering team related to PSP data integrations
  • Have a direct impact on revenue, payment costs, and the company’s risk profile
     

What We Look For

  • 2+ years of experience in the billing, payments, or subscriptions domains
  • Strong understanding of billing as a product, including payment flows, retries, routing, cascading, and reconciliation
  • SQL proficiency (joins, aggregations; window functions are a plus) and experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker
  • Strong analytical mindset and ability to use analytics as a product tool, including metrics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making
  • Experience working with payment service providers and payment orchestration solutions such as Stripe, Adyen, PayPal, Checkout, Nuvei, or similar
  • Ability to build a product roadmap, prioritize initiatives, and define requirements for Engineering and Data teams
  • Experience working with fees, pricing, or other cost-related aspects of billing
  • Understanding of risk and chargeback processes at the product feature level
  • English proficiency at an Upper-Intermediate level
     

Nice to have

  • Experience working with B2C subscription-based products and recurring billing
  • Understanding of data models and experience participating in data structure design
  • Experience with Primer or similar payment orchestration platforms
  • Experience working in high-volume or multi-geo payment environments
