Payment Systems Project Manager (for our partner group)

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Payment Systems Project Manager to coordinate projects focused on Visa and Mastercard payment systems - from membership to certification and then operational support and compliance. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of card payment ecosystems, including authorization, clearing, settlement, chargebacks, and compliance mandates from Visa and Mastercard, and an understanding of licensing and membership processes.

You will play a crucial role in the successful implementation, upgrade, or integration of payment systems, working cross-functionally with technical, operational, and compliance teams.

WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON
 

• Coordinate end-to-end project management for initiatives involving Visa and Mastercard (e.g., memberships, certifications, new product launches, mandate updates).
• Collaborate with payment systems, card processors,  payment gateways, and tech teams to ensure complete alignment and timely delivery of projects.
• Manage stakeholder communications, reporting on timelines, risks, dependencies, and budgets.
• Oversee compliance with Visa/Mastercard rules and regulations, including mandates.
• Coordinate certification and testing with Visa and Mastercard (e.g., acquiring, e-commerce,  BIN sponsorships).
• Ensure proper documentation, training, and change management for all activities and new systems.
   

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE
 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Information Systems, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in project management, ideally in the financial services or payment industry.
• Strong understanding of Visa/Mastercard systems, rules, and integration standards.
• Proven experience delivering projects involving acquiring platforms.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
   

WILL BE A PLUS
 

• Experience with payment gateway services, processing systems, or payment orchestration platforms.
• Technical understanding of APIs, SDKs, and message formats used in payment switching or processing.
