Tech Lead — Python Automation + AWS

We’re a startup with a working platform that processes financial data. Most of our internal systems are built in Python, and our website + client portal run on AWS. Now we’re focused on making everything more automated, reliable, secure, and scalable.

We have two strong developers already. We’re looking for a senior tech lead to own the architecture, set a clear plan, and drive automation across the system.

What you’ll do:

• Take ownership of system architecture: document, simplify, and define priorities

• Lead automation work: turn semi-manual workflows into reliable pipelines

• Improve operational maturity: deployments, monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident readiness

• Strengthen security for sensitive financial data: access controls, secrets handling, auditability

• Support two developers with clear direction, standards, and roadmap execution

• Help keep existing AWS portal/website stable while development continues

Must-haves:

• Senior-level experience leading production systems

• Strong Python (automation, data processing, backend)

• Comfort with AWS environments and practical DevOps hygiene

• Security-first mindset (sensitive financial data)

Nice-to-haves (not required):

FinTech / regulated-data experience, mortgage domain knowledge, SOC 2 mindset, TypeScript familiarity.
