RF Engineer
We’re looking for an RF Engineer to help our Nordic defense-tech client scale their next-generation autonomous drone platform.
Our client is redefining what it means to be a modern defense-tech company. They build groundbreaking autonomous systems that help enhance security and deter threats in an increasingly complex world. With an AI-first mindset, rapid iteration cycles, and a software-driven engineering culture, they move faster than traditional defense organizations — turning ambitious concepts into mission-ready capabilities.
The team is now expanding the platform’s capabilities with radio signal (RF) detection, localization, and communication improvements — and that’s where you come in.
We are seeking a skilled and driven RF Engineer to help integrate advanced RF technologies into the drone ecosystem. You will design, test, and optimize communication and RF-sensing components that support autonomous missions in contested and dynamic environments.
If you’re excited by cutting-edge robotics, autonomy, and defense innovation — this is your chance to make a real impact.
What you'll do in this role
- Design, develop, and integrate RF communication modules for autonomous drone systems.
- Work with radio links across relevant frequency bands to ensure stable command, control, and data flow.
- Implement anti-jamming, interference mitigation, and secure communication techniques.
- Support the development of RF-based detection and localization systems (future capability).
- Collaborate closely with software engineers working with ROS, Python, and C++ to ensure seamless system-level integration.
- Evaluate and test RF performance in lab settings and in the field, including challenging signal environments.
- Help optimize antenna configurations, signal processing pipelines, and RF hardware selection.
- Contribute to the overall architecture of communication systems for high-autonomy missions.
We're looking for
- 5+ years of experience as an Engineer, with at least 3 years in radio, connectivity, RF systems, or signal processing.
- Strong understanding of RF communication (radio, antennas, modulations, boards).
- Experience working with frequency ranges typically used in drone communication (e.g., 200 MHz – 5.4 GHz).
- Experience with anti-jamming or encrypted communication is highly valued.
- Familiarity with integrating RF hardware into embedded or robotics systems.
- Experience with field testing and signal performance evaluation.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Master’s preferred (electrical, embedded, telecom, or similar).
- Ability to travel within Ukraine for field tests.
Strong spoken and written English.
How to knock our socks off
- Experience with drone systems, unmanned platforms, or defense-tech.
- Knowledge of electronic warfare concepts.
- Ability to name five beetroot dishes besides borshch.
