Marketing Technology Manager

Job Description

Readiness to shift working hours to work with California team mates (Until 9-10 PM Kyiv time).

Must-Have

  • 4-7 years of experience in marketing technology, data engineering, or growth operations roles.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Segment (Connections + Personas/CDI) and Braze (Canvases, API, Currents).
  • Solid SQL proficiency, with the ability to validate and debug data in BigQuery or Redshift.
  • Experience with REST APIs, JSON payloads, and troubleshooting webhooks.
  • Strong understanding of event tracking design, identity stitching, and marketing attribution logic.
  • A proven record of managing technical marketing tools in production environments.

Nice-to-Have

  • Segment Implementation Certification.
  • Braze Certified Technical Architect.
  • Experience with Shopify and paid media integrations.
  • Experience with AVO or a similar schema management tool.
  • Familiarity with dbt and AWS services.
  • Knowledge of Python for automation.
  • Understanding of privacy frameworks (like GDPR/CCPA) and data governance.
  • Background in e-commerce or subscription software industries.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical administrator for the MarTech stack, focusing on Segment, Braze, and related integrations, ensuring configuration integrity and health.
  • Monitor API limits, sync latency, and error logs; build alerting and runbooks to ensure operational uptime.
  • Manage user access, permissions, and role-based governance across development and production environments.
  • Maintain and govern the event and attribute schemas shared across Segment, Braze, and BigQuery.
  • Partner with Data Engineering teams to validate ETL pipelines and debug data flow issues between marketing and data layers.
  • Maintain and document identity resolution logic and ensure audience consistency across all engagement platforms.
  • Collaborate with Growth Product Managers to operationalize lifecycle experiments and audiences in Segment and Braze.
  • Support the QA process for new canvases, trigger logic, and data flows before they are launched.
  • Develop lightweight API scripts and Cloud Functions for advanced use cases, such as cross-system syncs, enrichment jobs, and data backfills.
  • Automate data audits, health checks, and suppression logic between systems.
  • Partner with Analytics and Security teams to ensure data accuracy, privacy, and consent compliance (GDPR/CCPA).
  • Maintain technical documentation and change logs for the marketing systems to ensure audit readiness.

Our client is a globally recognized brand in the creative technology industry, building a next-generation growth engine to power their e-commerce and digital software businesses. The project's goal is to integrate key platforms, including Segment, Braze, Shopify, and BigQuery, into a single, unified revenue system. This powerful new system will be the foundation for scaling personalization, automating lifecycle marketing, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the business.

We are looking for a MarTech Manager to act as the central technical owner and steward of this growth technology ecosystem. This is a hands-on technical role that sits at the intersection of data engineering, marketing automation, and platform operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the entire marketing stack runs with precision, reliability, and scalability.

Please note: This is not a campaign execution role for running marketing programs. It is a technical enablement and reliability role focused on ensuring the tools, data, and workflows are production-grade and always ready to support the next growth experiment.
