The position is open with a large product iGaming company that has created 100 cutting edge products, operating in 20 different markets, employing 1,300 people.

👉 Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced Head of Database Administration (DBA) to lead and scale our database team. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on expertise, ensuring stability, scalability, and performance across a diverse database ecosystem.
 

✅ Tech Stack:

✔️ Relational Databases: MySQL, Percona XtraDB Cluster, Amazon RDS, Aurora;

✔️ Analytics & Streaming: ClickHouse, CDC data streaming (Debezium);

✔️ NoSQL: MongoDB;

✔️ Infrastructure: Databases hosted in the cloud, on-premises, and in Kubernetes environments.

✅ Responsibilities:

✔️ Lead and manage a growing DBA team (currently 5 members, with active hiring ongoing);

✔️ Oversee performance, availability, backup, and disaster recovery for more than 100 database servers, including several high-load systems;

✔️ Collaborate closely with development teams, solution architects, and data analysts to ensure database reliability and efficiency;

✔️ Drive adoption of modern practices for database management, migrations, automation, and process standardization;

✔️ Evaluate, implement, and optimize new technologies and solutions to meet evolving business needs.
 

✅ Requirements:

✔️5+ years of experience in a Database Administration role.
✔️ 3+ years of experience in managing teams.

✔️ Proven experience managing large-scale, high-availability database infrastructures;

✔️ Strong leadership and people management skills;

✔️ Experience working across cloud, on-premises, and containerized environments (Kubernetes);

✔️ Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
