Senior Full-stack Developer (JS, Python, GenAI)

We are Jakala — a data, AI and experience agency looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer who seeks the balance between solid engineering standards and cutting-edge innovation.

You will join a high-performance team building next-generation web applications in the healthcare domain. You will be building RAG systems, automation, agentic tools, and complex data pipelines that solve genuine problems for medical professionals and patients.

Key responsibilities

Architect & Build

• Design and ship scalable, production-grade web applications with AI integration
• Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) flows for high-accuracy document extraction and semantic search
• Build and optimize backend services that handle complex context windows and token management, and latency constraints

Innovate & Solve

• Collaborate directly with healthcare stakeholders to translate complex requirements into technical reality
• Develop Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for fast validation of feasibility and value before scaling to production
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI, ML, and cloud technologies, incorporating them into the project lifecycle

Lead & Collaborate

• Drive technical decision-making and estimate complex features for sprint planning
• Mentor teammates through code reviews, promoting clean architecture, coding standards and testing patterns
• Conduct rigorous testing and performance tuning to ensure robust deterministic AI services

Required skills

• Experience: 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience
• Frontend: Expertise in React and/or Vue.js (Component design, state management)
• Backend: Expertise in Python (FastAPI/Django) and/or Node.js
• Data: Strong knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, and Vector databases
• AI Engineering: Proven experience integrating LLMs. You understand embeddings, vector similarity search, and prompt engineering patterns
• Tooling: Effective usage of AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, etc.)
• Core Engineering: Good understanding of REST APIs, integration patterns, Git, and branching workflows
• Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills and an ownership mindset—you care about the “why” as much as the “how.”
• Language: Upper-Intermediate English level or above

Nice to have experience with:

• Setting up CI/CD pipelines and Dockerizing applications
• AWS or other cloud platforms
• Healthcare/MedTech domain
