Full-Stack Senior Engineer

This is a rare opportunity to join Houston Systems a consultancy that partners with hand-selected, high-potential startups across the UK, Western Europe, and the USA, often taking equity positions in the products we help build. 

You will become the lead full-stack developer on a fintech product already gaining traction with major blue-chip clients, while also contributing to the architecture and scaling of a second emerging platform being piloted by some of the world’s leading private-equity firms. 

As both products grow, you’ll have the opportunity to choose which direction you want to commit to long-term. 

In the first stage of the role, you’ll focus on improving our scalability on Azure—particularly optimising our LLM pipeline, where we’re currently pushing up against token limits in production. This will involve workarounds such as query optimisation and exploring self-hosted LLM deployments. 

Next, you’ll lead the development of new features for automated financial report generation, producing outputs used directly in boardrooms at major global companies. 

You’ll be working with a modern stack, including: 
- Next.js (deployed via Vercel) 
- Azure-hosted PostgreSQL 
- Azure Foundry for generative AI models 

You’ll collaborate closely with exceptional engineers from the University of Cambridge and Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv, in a culture that values autonomy, high standards, and real ownership.
