Product Owner, Merchant Growth

NexusMedia manages a growing portfolio of over 30 Shopify apps available on the Shopify AppStore. We are looking for a dedicated and highly organized Product Owner to focus on optimizing the visibility, communication, and overall experience of our apps for merchants.

This role is centered on product success outside of core feature development. Your primary responsibilities will be growth optimization (ASO), clear documentation, seamless support coordination, and ensuring app stability.

 

The Role

 

You will be the vital link between our apps, our merchants, our design team, and our dev team.

 

1. Market Presence & App Store Growth

 

You are responsible for driving merchant acquisition and optimizing our external product presentation.

  • App Store Optimization (ASO): Drive organic discovery and conversion. You will monitor and improve our AppStore search positions on key keywords and manage our AppStore Ads strategy.
  • Listing Management: Ensure all 30+ product listings are professional, accurate, up to date and compelling. You will coordinate the upkeep of these listings, manage visual asset updates (in collaboration with the design team), and oversee listing localization/translation.
  • Marketing Support: Contribute to external communications by preparing content for the company website, landing pages, and supporting general marketing activities.

 

2. User Enablement & Documentation

 

You will ensure that merchants have up-to-date, high-quality resources for immediate success.

  • Comprehensive Documentation: Own the creation and maintenance of all merchant-facing instructional content. This includes ensuring app documentation and FAQs are up to date and reflect all recent UI changes or new functionalities.
  • Instructional Media: Regularly create and update instructional videos (e.g., Loom videos) for key features and usage workflows.
  • Release Communications: Manage transparent internal and external communications regarding updates. This includes maintaining both public and internal changelogs, notifying the support team of releases, and scheduling social media posts related to new features.

 

3. Support Coordination & Product Health

 

You manage the feedback loop and monitor the operational stability of the portfolio.

  • Customer Feedback Triage: Act as the product voice by responding to AppStore Reviews and processing critical, product-related requests escalated by the support team and developers.
  • Monitoring: Proactively track key performance indicators (KPIs) like installation volume and uninstall rates following updates. You will also monitor for server outages and track app removal reasons to identify necessary fixes.

 

4. Backlog & Maintenance Oversight

 

While new features are infrequent, you define and manage essential upkeep.

  • Prioritization: Maintain the product backlog, prioritizing items based on merchant feedback, platform updates (e.g., new API versions), compliance needs, and critical bug fixes.
  • Definition & Approval: Prepare clear task specifications/specs for the design and development teams. You will obtain necessary approvals for deadlines and budgets.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct final app testing/review before or immediately after a release to ensure stability.

 

Required Skills & Experience

 

  • High level of organizational skill, capable of managing competing priorities across a large portfolio of products (30+ apps).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on producing clear, technical, and user-friendly documentation.
  • Familiarity with the Shopify ecosystem or similar e-commerce platforms is a strong advantage.
