Data Modeler

On behalf of our Client, a well-established financial institution from the Caribbean region, Mobilunity is looking for a Senior Data Modeler (Data Engineer/Analytics background) for a long-term engagement.
 

Our Client is the largest bank in the Caribbean region that serves 14 countries/territories. The aim is to transform this organization from a traditional bank into a new era of fintech, leveraging the cutting-edge of current fintech offerings.

This role focuses on designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned with BIAN standards, supporting MDM and ODS layers, and enabling integration across modern cloud-based data platforms.

Responsibilities:
 

• Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Develop and evolve canonical data models and entity definitions aligned with BIAN service domains.
• Produce and maintain Logical Data Models (LDM) and Physical Data Models (PDM) using modern modeling tools.
• Define and enforce data modeling standards, including naming conventions, normalization, keys, and relationships.
• Design master and reference data structures supporting MDM and Operational Data Store (ODS) layers.

Requirements:
 

• Data Modeling
• Strong experience designing OLTP and OLAP data models
• Experience with modeling tools such as ERwin, ER/Studio, or similar
• Strong knowledge of SQL, ER/UML modeling, normalization, and canonical data models
• Cloud & Data Platforms
• Experience working with cloud environments such as AWS
• Familiarity with services including S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, Kafka/MSK, and Airflow
• Experience with API-based and event-driven integrations
• Data Storage
• Experience with modern data formats and cloud storage structures such as Iceberg, Parquet, and data lakes

Additional experience:
 

• Data Engineering
• Building and maintaining data pipelines in cloud environments
• Experience working with Kafka or streaming architectures
• Data Analytics
• Experience with Power BI
• Supporting data governance or reporting teams

Preferred experience:

• Experience with BIAN frameworks or banking data models
• Background in banking, fintech, or other regulated industries
• Experience with MDM or ODS architectures
• Ability to translate data models into integration contracts and APIs
