Senior DevOps Engineer

About the Role

We’re looking for Senior / Principal DevOps Engineers to support Orbis, a large legacy platform built on bespoke, business-critical systems.

The role exists because the platform is complex, highly customized, and poorly documented. You’ll help the team understand how the system works today, document it clearly, stabilize it, and support its gradual modernization.

This is a hands-on role for someone with a detective mindset — comfortable digging into legacy code, infrastructure, and undocumented processes to bring clarity and structure.

Location: Remote (Europe time zones)
Engagement: Full-time, long-term contract
Start Date: ideally in January

What You’ll Do

  • Work with a large in-production legacy system with limited documentation
  • Discover, understand, and document undocumented workflows and automation
  • Drive three main work areas:

1. Platform modernization toward serverless
2. Security standardization and vulnerability management
3. Monitoring standardization

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues independently
  • Design and improve automation and deployment pipelines
  • Work closely with developers and operations teams to improve cross-team collaboration

Must-Have Requirements

  • Strong .NET / C# development skills to understand large volumes of legacy custom code
  • Solid experience with older Microsoft enterprise environments:
  • Windows Server administration
  • SQL Server
  • .NET / ASP.NET / C#
  • A blended background across DevOps, Windows infrastructure, and .NET engineering
  • Comfortable working with minimal documentation and creating it from scratch

Tech Stack

  • Microsoft Windows Server
  • MS SQL Server
  • .NET / ASP.NET / C#
  • Terraform
  • Jenkins
  • CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Git
  • AWS (nice to have)

Soft Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ownership mindset and high attention to detail
  • Clear and proactive communication
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
  • Comfortable working independently and leading discovery efforts
