Data Engineer

We’re looking for a Data Engineer to join our client's data engineering team. The role focuses on building and maintaining data pipelines using a modern cloud data stack to drive data-driven decision-making across the retail organization.

Technical Stack

• Snowflake - Cloud data warehouse
• dbt Cloud - Data transformation (SQL)
• Astronomer (Airflow) - Workflow orchestration
• Python - Scripting and automation

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with dbt
• Strong SQL skills (complex queries, performance tuning, data modeling)
• Experience with Snowflake or similar warehouses (BigQuery, Redshift)
• Airflow experience (DAG development, orchestration)
• Proficiency in Python for automation and scripting
• Hands-on experience building production-grade ELT/ETL pipelines
• Experience working with cloud data platforms

Nice to have:

• Retail/e-commerce domain experience
• Data quality tools (Great Expectations, Monte Carlo)
• Modern data stack tools (Fivetran, Airbyte)
• BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI)
• Terraform / IaC
• Data governance understanding

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines using dbt and Airflow
• Develop and optimize SQL transformations and data models in Snowflake
• Implement data quality checks and ensure data reliability
• Collaborate with analytics and business stakeholders to understand data needs
• Document data lineage and maintain best practices in version control
• Contribute to performance optimization and continuous improvement of data workflows
