Senior Data Engineer (Palantir)

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines and workflows on Palantir Foundry within the real estate and investment management domain. In this role, you will focus on integrating diverse data sources, ensuring data quality, and enabling scalable data products that power analytics and applications. You’ll work as part of a cross-functional team, collaborating with product managers, analysts, and architects to deliver robust data solutions that drive business value.

 

About the role
As a Data Engineer, you’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining the pipelines, transformations, and data models that sit at the core of Foundry implementations. You’ll partner with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions, making sure data is clean, reliable, and accessible to downstream users. Working closely with program leadership and senior engineers, you’ll help ensure that Foundry is leveraged effectively to support enterprise needs in accounting, reporting, and real estate.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field;
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering roles;
  • Understanding of data governance, data modeling & analysis and data quality concepts and requirements;
  • Understanding of data lifecycle, DataOps concepts, and basic design patterns;
  • Experience with Palantir Foundry using: Ontology,  Ontology manager, Ontology functions /Actions;
  • Strong knowledge of Palantir Foundry features  Pipeline builder, Workshop, Code repository, Builds;
  • Strong knowledge in SQL, database management system and optimization;
  • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes and workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow) and real-time technologies;
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Typescript;
  • 5+ years experience working with big data tools and cloud data platforms (at least one AWS, Azure, GCP);
  • Knowledge of modern data warehousing tools like Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift;
  • Experience with data visualization tools;
  • Knowledge of machine learning frameworks;
  • Understanding the Real estate industry domain specifics and integrations with ERP data are a plus;
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills for debugging complex systems;
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical teams.

 

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain scalable data processing systems and pipelines;
  • Automate and improve data processes for scalability and efficiency;
  • Optimize DB queries and systems for speed and efficiency;
  • Design and implement efficient data storage solutions (e.g.,relational databases, data lakes, warehouses);
  • Monitor data infrastructure for performance and reliability;
  • Implement validation processes to ensure high-quality, clean, and reliable datasets, and advanced data governance frameworks;
  • Develop tools/scripts to automate repetitive tasks for data processing and monitoring;
  • Collaborate closely with the team members and other stakeholders;
  • Provide technical support and mentoring to junior data engineers;
  • Participate in data governance and compliance efforts;
  • Document data pipelines, processes, and best practices;
  • Evaluate and recommend new data technologies.
