QA Engineer

Our team is seeking a QA Engineer to help deliver a reliable and high-quality Vehicle Repossession Platform.

The position requires strong analytical, quality assurance, and business analysis skills. This role emphasizes manual testing, API validation, and close collaboration with business and technical teams to ensure a high-quality user experience.

 

1. Core Testing and Quality Assurance Skills

  • Manual Testing Expertise: Proficient in end-to-end manual testing for web applications, including functional, regression, system integration, and user acceptance testing. The candidate should be able to create test plans and execute tests that cover all essential scenarios and edge cases.
  • API Testing: Strong skills in API testing using tools such as Postman or Swagger. The candidate should be able to validate API endpoints, ensuring correct data flow between front-end and back-end, proper response codes, data formats, and error handling, especially for services related to vehicle repositioning, tracking, and scheduling.
  • Test Case and Test Plan Development: Ability to create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test cases and test plans that reflect business requirements and technical specifications. Knowledge of traceability to map test cases to requirements is essential.

2. Business Analysis and Requirement Validation

  • Business Analysis Acumen: Ability to understand and translate business requirements into testable conditions and identify discrepancies or potential gaps in requirements, especially for functions specific to vehicle management, scheduling, and tracking.
  • Requirement Gathering and Clarification: Skilled in working with product managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and understand the broader business objectives of the portal. Capable of providing insights into potential usability improvements and system reliability enhancements.
  • User Flow Analysis: Expertise in analyzing user workflows to ensure the portal meets the needs of different user roles (e.g., dispatchers, fleet operators). This involves mapping out business processes and ensuring the application provides a smooth and intuitive experience for each user group.

3. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills

  • Defect Analysis and Reporting: Capable of identifying, analyzing, and documenting defects with precision and clarity, ensuring reproducibility and accurate communication with developers. Proficiency in defect-tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla) is essential.
  • Data Validation Skills: Ability to validate data integrity across the system, particularly for vehicle tracking, scheduling, and other dynamic data. Familiarity with SQL or other querying techniques to inspect and validate backend data.
  • Risk Assessment: Skillful in assessing potential areas of risk and prioritizing testing efforts based on business impact. Ability to highlight high-risk areas that could affect critical functionality, such as vehicle availability, scheduling, and real-time location updates.

4. Quality Assurance Processes and Best Practices

  • Adherence to QA Standards: Knowledgeable about quality assurance methodologies and best practices, such as defect management and root cause analysis, to help ensure consistent quality throughout the development cycle.
  • Agile Process Experience: Comfortable working in an Agile or Scrum environment, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives to collaborate effectively with the team and adapt to ongoing changes in requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively engaged in process improvements, bringing insights on how to enhance quality processes, improve testing efficiency, and better meet business objectives.
