Lead Infrastructure Software Engineer (Go / Kubernetes)

We are looking for an Infrastructure Software Engineer to join the architecture team of our client. You will be the primary engineer driving two internal projects: a multi-cloud API Gateway, developing Kubernetes operators in Go and integrating with cloud services to provide routing, authentication, observability, and rate limiting; and a Documentation Portal, maintaining and enhancing an internal developer platform that allows teams to write and manage documentation as code. You will take full ownership of both projects, collaborating with teams across the EU and US, and contributing to the architecture and development of internal developer tools.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the API Gateway project
  • Research and select the appropriate solution (Envoy, APISIX, Kong, 3scale)
  • Build prototypes and integrate with Kubernetes Gateway API
  • Develop necessary Kubernetes operators in Go
  • Configure integrations with Cloudflare, GCP, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Maintain and improve the documentation portal
  • Small features, bug fixes, and CI pipeline support in GitLab

 

Requirements:

  • Kubernetes โ€“ strong hands-on experience (including Gateway API and writing operators)
  • Golang โ€“ development of Kubernetes operators and microservices
  • Cloudflare โ€“ configuration and integration (including Workers)
  • JavaScript / TypeScript โ€“ development of tooling and frontend maintenance
  • GitLab CI/CD โ€“ building and maintaining pipelines
  • GCP (Google Cloud Platform) โ€“ experience with infrastructure, services, and tooling
  • Ability to work highly autonomously and take full ownership of projects
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders at different levels
  • Strong analytical and architectural thinking, able to propose and defend solutions
  • Good English (both written and spoken) for collaboration and presenting solutions
