Senior Software Development Team Lead
We have an open position for a Senior Software Development Team Lead, overlooking the design and development of the various modules needed in a clinical trial suite.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading the technical product development for a specific product or product group including, but not limited to, development, backlog maintenance, planning & review, test & release management.
- The product delivery roadmap and internal communication thereof.
- Communication and management of the (external) development team.
- Close cooperation with stakeholders (i.e. product manager, customer success, business and external and internal development team).
You will be reporting to the CTO who defines company's technology strategy and vision. You will closely cooperate since the CTO oversees the technology teams, technical architecture & infrastructure, drives innovation and ensures alignment with business goals.
Skills & Qualifications
We would expect that you bring the following skills, experiences, and qualifications:
- A higher professional education or a university degree
- Minimum 5 years of IT work experience preferably Cloud (AWS or similar) technology as well as Front-End (Angular, Flutter or similar) and Back-End (relational DB, FastAPI or similar, .Net) development stack.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, strategic, analytical, organizational and leadership skills.
- A solid technical background in software development processes. Knowledge of SCRUM, and/or certifications.
- Understanding and preferably experience with Quality Management systems and procedures (Guidelines, Standards, SOPs etc.).
- Fluent in English to communicate as well as read & write documentation and release notes in English.
Client
The client develops a software suite for conducting clinical trials, based on the latest cloud and blockchain technology, that incorporates many modules.
Now the following has been developed:
- Study Management – Manage study objects. Design questionnaires & forms, manage Assessments, Events & the Schedule of Assessments (SofA) and publish this for study conduct, to collect clinical data from trial participants.
- eConsent – Process to capture and manage electronic consents between investigators and study participants.
- eCOA/eCRF – Collect trial data via ePRO (Patient Recorded Outcomes) where the participant uses a mobile device and eCRF (Case Report Forms), including ClinRO (Clinical Recorded Outcomes), where investigators collect study participant data via a web browser. More functionality and interfaces will be added during the course of 2026.
Assignment
The initial assignment will be to support PharmaTrail Team in achieving the latter tasks above. The assignment might be extended after that.
The client expects consultant to do the following:
- Lead the product development team. This includes backlog maintenance, planning and review, test and release management.
- Specify user stories for the development team for the respective modules, based on business requirements specified in “Jira Discovery” by the Product Manager. These will be groomed in regular meetings. Currently, the following modules, where users interact with the system, are used:
- “study manager” module where study design, sites, users, roles, schedules and the publishing studies are administered. The goal will be to gradually move the existing “admin” module into the “study management”.
- “site” module, used by investigators and monitors (CRA’s) to manage consents and collect data from study participants.
- “mobile” module where the participant consent and clinical data is collected via a mobile device (smartphone).
- Support to Product Management and CTO in creating roadmaps and timelines.
- Ensure timelines are met.
- Work closely with Product Management to ensure successful implementation of Business Requirements.
- Work closely together with Product Management and CTO to define requirements, development sprints and product releases.
- Oversee the technical design, prototyping, and testing phases to ensure product specifications are met.
- Monitor product performance post-launch and incorporate feedback into future development.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
