QA Lead

We are elai.io, an innovative AI-driven startup specializing in video generation. Recently acquired by Panopto — a leader in interactive video solutions — we’re now part of a growing team of around 200 professionals focused on advancing learning through powerful, interactive video technology.

Now we are looking for a QA Lead to take ownership of the QA function within our team. This role is critical in defining testing strategies, managing QA activities, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products. You will lead a team of QA engineers, foster best practices, and collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to align testing processes with project goals and timelines.

Your future responsibilities

• Define and drive QA strategy, processes, and best practices across the project.
• Lead, mentor, and support the QA team in day-to-day activities.
• Design and oversee the creation of test cases, automation scripts, and regression suites.
• Ensure proper test coverage through functional, regression, and performance testing.
• Report, track, and prioritize defects, ensuring timely resolution with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders during planning and review sessions, providing QA perspective.
• Continuously improve QA efficiency through automation and process optimization.

Your qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in QA, including at least 1–2 years in a lead or senior role.
• Strong communication skills in English (both written and spoken).
• Proven ability to mentor and manage QA engineers, organize workloads, and ensure team efficiency.
• Hands-on knowledge of scripting/programming languages (e.g., Python, Java).
• Familiarity with bug tracking systems (we use Jira).
• Experience in both manual and automated testing, with ability to build and scale automation frameworks.
• Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, frameworks, and tools.
