Technical Writer
About the Role
The SE Ranking API team is on a mission to scale our API into a significant revenue stream for the company. We are looking for a talented Technical Writer to play a pivotal role in this journey. This is a dual-focus role that combines technical content creation for marketing with the development of world-class API documentation. You will be foundational to improving our developer experience and driving demand generation, helping us reach our goal of attributing 10% of new MRR to the API by 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing & Content Creation (50%)
- Author Technical Content: Write engaging and informative technical blog posts, tutorials, and use-case guides that attract and educate new users about the capabilities of the SE Ranking API.
- Develop Campaign Materials: Create compelling content for marketing campaigns to drive top-of-funnel awareness and user acquisition.
- Collaborate on Strategy: Work closely with the product and marketing teams to align content with our overall demand generation strategy and product roadmap.
API Documentation (50%)
- Build a Best-in-Class Experience: Create, refine, and maintain our API documentation to provide a seamless and intuitive onboarding experience for developers.
- Develop Learning Resources: Produce clear getting-started guides, detailed endpoint references, and practical code samples to reduce time-to-first-call.
- Ensure Accuracy and Clarity: Keep all documentation up-to-date with the latest API features, improvements, and changes.
- Gather Feedback: Actively solicit and incorporate feedback from users and internal teams to continuously improve the quality and usability of the documentation.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer, Content Creator, or Developer Advocate, Developer Evangelist, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work (especially with APIs or developer tools).
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and engaging content for diverse audiences.
- Experience writing for marketing and demand generation, with an understanding of how to attract and convert a technical audience.
- Familiarity with API documentation tools and standards such as OpenAPI/Swagger, Postman, ReadMe, or similar platforms.
- A solid understanding of REST APIs, HTTP protocols, and common authentication methods.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
- A proactive and independent mindset, with a passion for improving the developer experience.
