Senior Database Administration

As a Senior Database Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the organization ' s database systems. This role involves ensuring data availability, integrity, and security, as well as supporting the development and implementation of database policies and procedures. The Senior DBA works closely with IT, development teams, and other stakeholders to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of the organization ' s databases.

Key Requirements: 
- Experience: 7+ years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator in a 24/7 production environment. 
- Multi-Platform Expertise: Deep, demonstrable expertise in administering SQL Server, MySQL, and MongoDB. 
- Performance Guru: Proven track record of advanced performance tuning and optimization across all three platforms. 
- HA/DR Mastery: In-depth knowledge of high-availability and disaster recovery solutions for each database system. 
- Scripting Proficiency: Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or a similar language for automation. 
- Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues under pressure. 

- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences. 

Responsibilities: 
- Architect & Administer: Design, implement, and maintain robust and scalable database solutions across SQL Server, MySQL, and MongoDB environments. 
- Performance Tuning & Optimization: Proactively monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement advanced optimization techniques, including query tuning, index management, and server configuration. 
- High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Develop, implement, and regularly test comprehensive backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies (e.g., Clustering, Replication, AlwaysOn) to ensure business continuity. 
- Security & Compliance: Establish and enforce security policies and procedures to protect company data. 
- Conduct regular security audits and ensure compliance with industry standards. 
- Automation & Scripting: Develop scripts (PowerShell, Python, Bash) to automate routine database tasks, deployments, and monitoring to improve efficiency and reliability. 
- Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with development, infrastructure, and business intelligence teams to provide database expertise, support application development, and advise on best practices.
