Junior Test Engineer

Description

Our Customer is one of the biggest companies on the market of home entertainment consumer electronics devices that strives to provide their clients with high-quality products and services.

Project goals include testing of the video and audio content and other services available via digital media players; testing media players firmware.

Requirements

• 1+ year of experience in software quality engineering, bug triage, or a similar role.
• Strong debugging and root cause analysis skills.
• Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Solid understanding of software development and testing practices.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
• Experience working with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla) and log analysis.

Preferred:

• Basic Media experience and willingness to go deep into technical side (Smart TV, media systems integration)
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and scripting.

Job responsibilities

We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our Bug Triage team. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining and improving product quality by investigating reported issues, identifying root causes, analyzing regressions, and supporting the resolution process.

As part of this team, your focus will be on deep-dive investigations of bugs, assessing their reproducibility, tracing them to specific commits or changes, and building commit-level CI regressions to catch similar issues in the future. You’ll collaborate closely with developers, QA engineers, and product managers to ensure critical bugs are correctly prioritized and addressed in a timely manner.

Job Responsibilities

• Analyze and triage incoming bugs to determine severity, impact, and root cause.
• Reproduce complex issues across multiple environments and configurations.
• Investigate regressions and identify the responsible commits or code changes.
• Build and maintain CI-level regression checks to catch repeat issues.
• Work with development teams to ensure bugs are well-documented and actionable.
