Mission & Role Overview
 

For our client in the semiconductor industry, we are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in agile software engineering and containerization technologies. You will play a key role in enhancing automation, extending CI/CD pipelines, and maintaining cluster infrastructure applications in Kubernetes-based environments. This position is ideal for someone passionate about infrastructure efficiency and security, with a hands-on approach to DevOps in on-premise setups.
 

The role is remote, however, onsite workshops in Germany or Austria (4-6 times per year) are an important part of the job, and attendance is required.

🛠 Desired Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes application development.
• Strong expertise in Kubernetes (must-have); OpenShift experience is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with Helm charts, ArgoCD, GitOps, Jenkins, and Ansible.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes edge and non-edge solutions.
• Solid knowledge of Kubernetes security features and best practices.
• Focus on on-premise Kubernetes environments (no cloud DevOps focus).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in agile, distributed teams.
• Proven experience as a Senior-level DevOps professional.

🎯 Responsibilities
 

• Lead the migration of applications and test setups from Linux-based Kubernetes to OpenShift (on-premise).
• Enhance application security with Service Mesh, Pod Admission Policies, Network Policies, and secure image whitelisting.
• Maintain and improve monitoring and logging components.
• Optimize alerting mechanisms and cluster resource usage.
• Perform version updates and upgrades on infrastructure applications.
• Provide technical support to resolve incidents related to both technical and process flow issues.
• Support customers in migrating projects to Kubernetes and OpenShift.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless DevOps operations.
