Creative Strategist (Gaming)

We're looking for a Creative Strategist with strong domain expertise in mobile gaming and digital performance creative to lead the strategic direction of our ad creative efforts. This person will serve as a trusted advisor across teams, owning the strategic thinking, research, ideation, and delivery planning that powers our best-performing ad content.

You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Creative Teams, and Customer Success to shape our high-performing video ads strategy.

 

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Ownership & Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Act as a creative and domain expert—advise on best practices, drive creative solutions, and lead innovation.
  • Work closely with Product, CS, and Creative Leads to define strategies, priorities, and development plans
  • Provide creative and strategic input for PRDs (Product Requirement Documents), driven by insights and analytics

Market Research & Insights

  • Conduct ongoing market research and competitive analysis to stay on top of trends
  • Translate insights into actionable concepts and ideas across multiple game genres and formats
  • Deliver trend analysis and domain insights to inform internal decisions and innovation

Performance-Focused Execution & Guidance

  • Approve and guide initial deliveries—ensuring strong strategy alignment and meeting client requirements
  • Evaluate concepts based on performance potential and data, rather than subjective preferences
  • Approach every challenge and opportunity—with creative solutions and a proactive mindset and ownership
  • Lead ideation sessions for new creative directions and campaigns, driven by objective thinking and aligned with data and performance goals
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities with autonomy, ownership, and clarity

Qualifications

 

  • 5–7 years of proven experience in creative strategy or user acquisition within the mobile gaming or creative marketing performance
  • Deep domain knowledge of mobile gaming and creative content for performance marketing
  • Proficiency in English—you’ll write, present, and collaborate globally
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and drive each forward with strategic clarity
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills—you work well with Creative, Product, and CS
  • A confident, self-sufficient thinker and doer—you take ownership and move things forward
  • A true problem-solver with the creative intuition and fluent in data analysis

     

The Role

  • A dedicated expert in mobile gaming ad strategy, with deep knowledge of game mechanics, player psychology, and performance marketing data.
  • A strategic thinker who bridges insights across Product, Creative, and Customer Success.
  • An independent advisor whose sole focus is to reflect what’s needed based on data—rather than speculations or subjective opinions.
  • A single point of ownership for data-driven creative direction, ensuring all concepts are on-brand and optimized for performance.
  • Drives cross-team alignment on ad strategy, trend insights, and campaign roadmaps, especially for new games.
  • Translates performance data into the creative process: leads ideation sessions, reviews first videos, and keeps the ad pipeline cutting-edge and player-focused.
  • Advises on creative tools, skills, or assets based on new game needs or market trends.
  • Supports existing games with all of the above when there are clear struggles—primary focus will be on onboarding new games.

     

Responsibilities

Strategy & Ideation

  • Provide insights to support PRD creation and sync with Product teams to align on features and dev goals.
  • Build strategic roadmaps for new games—from first deliveries through the first month—to ensure impactful onboarding.
  • Lead ideation and brainstorming sessions to generate fresh, audience-tailored ad concepts.
  • Review and approve first video ads, ensuring they align with strategic and performance goals.
  • Ideate the first concept rounds, then guide Creative Leads on future ideations and support the creative direction of initial deliveries.

Market Trends & Insights

  • Analyze key metrics (CTR, CPI, ROAS) and recommend optimizations or new test directions based on performance.
  • Share insights with stakeholders (CS and Creative) to empower better decision-making. Act as a trusted advisor and knowledge hub.
  • Ensure new game strategies and roadmaps are data-driven—not assumption-based.
  • Share lessons learned and best practices across the Astra team.
  • Advise clients strategically when high-level input is needed.

Improvement & Innovation

  • Continuously seek out tools or techniques that can improve video quality and efficiency.
  • Creative strategies and decision-making will be tied to KPIs to ensure ongoing growth and accountability.
  • Identify negative trends in performance and build a strategic plan to reverse them.

Actual Work Overview

  • Definitions For Development - Identify key game features from Sales and research, and define them for the PRD.
  • Roadmaps Collaboration - Help the CS team create and update ad rollout plan for each game, from the first videos to long-term performance strategy.
  • Creative Strategy Sessions - Lead frequent strategic thinking sessions with team leads to align on creative direction, campaign goals, and industry-level market trends.
  • Ideation Optimization -
    • Ideation Knowledge Hub - Serve as the go-to expert on ideation techniques, advising Creative Leads and CS on best practices.
    • Cross-Project Learning - Capture lessons learned from each campaign and share insights to continually refine our brainstorming processes.
  • New Games Strategy & Approval -

    For the first three deliveries: performance alignment video, 1st and 2nd deliveries:

    • Define the creative approach in collaboration with stakeholders - CS.
    • Ideate concepts in collaboration with stakeholders - Team Leads.
    • Participate in the approval process for all three deliveries.
    • Participate in performance alignment sessions with the client to ensure strategic and creative alignment.
  • Analyze underperforming creatives - review samples, identify issues, and provide recommendations.
  • Creative Insights - Continuously research market trends and competitor strategies to suggest ideas for creative improvement.
  • Act as an expert in client sessions - Present new creative approaches and clearly explain the rationale behind them.
  • Explore Capabilities - Continuously search for new concepts, strategies, and ideas to strengthen our exploration and innovation efforts.
  • Cross-Functional Documentation - Maintain a centralized playbook of best practices, ideation techniques, and creative templates to support the Astra team and improve efficiency
  • Advice on Tool & Innovation- Suggest new tools, techniques, or AI hacks to speed up production and raise quality.
