Retention and Product Marketing Analyst
Position Summary
We are looking for a Retention Marketing Analyst / Automation Specialist to deepen our understanding of customer behavior and drive personalized engagement at scale. This role will focus on segmentation, cohort analysis, and channel preference to strengthen retention strategies, while also owning product projects on website analytics and funnel optimization. The candidate will play a key role in building data-driven systems that improve personalization, optimize automated journeys, and accelerate cross-channel growth.
Job Description
- Partner with the retention team to design and optimize segmentation frameworks, including customer lifecycle cohorts, behavioral clusters, and channel preference mapping, ensuring highly personalized and efficient communications.
- Support the development and ongoing optimization of data infrastructure for retention, collaborating with product managers and data engineers to integrate APIs, events, and customer attributes into scalable marketing systems.
- Conduct deep-dive retention analyses—including purchase frequency, churn risk, repeat rate, and customer lifetime value drivers—to identify opportunities for tailored offers and messaging.
- Collaborate with product teams to analyze website performance, funnels, and user flows; recommend and implement A/B tests on landing pages, checkout experiences, and onboarding journeys to increase conversion and retention.
- Identify and test new ways to personalize campaigns across email, SMS, push, and onsite, leveraging purchasing behavior and consumer insights.
- Support existing CRM initiatives while transitioning to advanced automated journeys and event-driven personalization.
- Measure and communicate the impact of retention campaigns and product experiments, providing clear insights and actionable recommendations.
- Work closely with engineering and product leaders to rapidly implement solutions and continuously optimize user experience across both marketing and product touchpoints.
Basic Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills; comfortable working with large datasets to build customer cohorts, measure retention KPIs, and generate actionable insights.
- Solid understanding of lifecycle marketing, including segmentation, personalization, and multichannel campaign strategies.
- Excellent organizational skills, detail orientation, and ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate data and insights into impactful retention strategies.
- Upper-intermediate English proficiency or above.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in marketing or product analytics, retention marketing, or automation.
- Proficiency in SQL (required/preferred depending on level) with the ability to write queries for cohort, funnel, and segmentation analysis.
- Familiarity with other coding languages (Python, R, or similar) for data analysis or automation is a plus.
- Experience with CRM/ESP platforms (Klaviyo, Iterable, Braze, etc.) and customer data analysis.
- Knowledge of A/B testing platforms (Google Optimize, Optimizely), Google Analytics, GTM, and product analytics tools.
- Passion for e-commerce and consumer products; interest in beauty or wellness is a plus.
