Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Analyst to serve as a crucial bridge between our business needs and the technical implementation of our new Salesforce Education Cloud and Marketing Cloud solution. The BA will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of this transformative project by meticulously gathering requirements, designing functional specifications, and facilitating effective communication between stakeholders and the technical team.
Key Responsibilities
- Requirements Gathering & Analysis:
- Conduct in-depth workshops with university stakeholders (Admissions, Marketing, IT) to thoroughly document current "as-is" processes for lead generation, application, admissions, and communication.
- Identify existing pain points, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process optimization.
- Define detailed "to-be" functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, and use cases for both Salesforce Education Cloud and Marketing Cloud.
- Assist in high-level data model design and outline specific integration requirements.
- Solution Design & Documentation:
- Translate functional requirements into precise technical specifications for Salesforce Education Cloud and Marketing Cloud configurations (object and field design, automation design utilizing Flows and Apex, security model definition).
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including process flows (current and future state), detailed requirements documents, and functional design specifications.
- Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication:
- Serve as the primary liaison between business users, project managers, solution architects, and developers.
- Facilitate effective communication, ensuring a clear understanding of requirements, progress, and potential challenges among all project participants.
- Actively participate in project governance meetings, including daily stand-ups and sprint reviews.
- Testing & Quality Assurance Support:
- Collaborate with the QA Engineer to develop detailed User Acceptance Testing (UAT) test cases that cover all implemented features and integrations.
- Support UAT preparation by ensuring the sandbox/business unit is populated with representative data for thorough testing.
- Assist in identifying, documenting, and prioritizing bugs and issues during testing phases.
- Change Management Support:
- Collaborate with the Change Management Specialist to ensure user needs are captured and addressed in training materials and communication strategies.
- Contribute to efforts driving user adoption and minimizing resistance to the new system.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst on complex IT implementation projects, preferably within the higher education sector.
- Demonstrated experience with Salesforce implementations, specifically with Education Cloud and/or Marketing Cloud.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements and technical specifications.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and presentation skills, capable of engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in process mapping, user story creation, and functional design documentation.
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira) and collaborative platforms.
- Ability to work effectively in a phased, agile project environment.
- Familiarity with data migration concepts (extraction, cleansing, transformation, loading) is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Salesforce Administrator or other relevant Salesforce certifications.
- Experience with other higher education systems (e.g., SIS like PowerCampus/Workday, CRM like TargetX, marketing automation like Pardot/Mailchimp, form builders like FormAssembly).
