About the Team:

• We are a US-based SAAS firm targeting the accounting industry. We use technology to solve business problems for accounting firms - we are not accountants. For you, this means you will be communicating with accountants about their business processes and helping them see the value in our software, which can help them grow their business and revenue. You are not expected to be an accountant, know how to do accounting, or even be good at math
• Our team consists of almost 400 people (in over 40 countries!) - we are a distributed team built on the principle of self-management

Who we're looking for:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our R&D Team (250+ people: developers, QA engineers, designers, technical support engineers, DevOps engineers, and product managers). This role is key for us, and we are looking for someone with a proactive mindset, strong technical expertise, and readiness to take ownership of complex engineering challenges.
 

Technology stack:

Ruby on Rails (7+), PostgreSQL, Docker, AWS infrastructure, k8s; configured CI / CD on Jenkins and Gitlab, BitBucket. We work in micro-teams of 7-8 people using the Kanban methodology and Trunk-based development model.
 

Our expectations:

• Solid backend development experience (7+ years) in Ruby.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design principles, and development methodologies
• Strategic thinking and proven ability to solve complex engineering problems
• Experience in improving code quality, introducing best practices, and setting coding standards
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
