Senior Manual QA Offline

About the Role

We're a small software company in Ivano-Frankivsk looking for a Senior Manual QA Engineer to lead quality assurance for our Singapore customer's projects. You'll shape our testing approach, mentor junior team members, and ensure we deliver reliable software.

As a senior member of a small team, you'll have real influence over how we test, what we prioritize, and how we improve. No layers of management or bureaucracy - just direct impact on product quality.

What You'll Actually Do

• Define and improve our testing strategy across multiple projects
• Test complex features and integrations that require deep product knowledge
• Review and mentor junior QA engineers' work
• Communicate directly with Singapore stakeholders about quality metrics and risks
• Lead test planning for new features and major releases
• Make decisions about what to test manually vs. what to automate
• Debug complex issues that span multiple services (Golang backend, React frontend, AWS infrastructure)
• Represent QA perspective in architecture and design discussions
• Build relationships with the customer's QA team and align on standards

Tech You'll Work With

Our stack includes Golang, Kubernetes, Redshift, React, Nest.js/Node.js, AWS, and Terraform. As a senior QA, you should understand how these pieces fit together and how to test distributed systems effectively.

What We Need From You

• 5+ years of manual testing experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role
• Upper-Intermediate English (B2+) - you'll present findings and negotiate timelines with stakeholders
• Strong experience testing microservices and distributed systems
• Proven ability to create test strategies from scratch
• Experience with performance and security testing basics
• Comfort with reading code (you don't need to write it, but understanding helps)
• Track record of improving QA processes in small-to-medium teams
• Experience working with offshore customers or distributed teams

Nice to Have

• Basic automation skills (even if just for repetitive tasks)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and how QA fits in
• ISTQB or similar (we don't require it, but it's a plus)
• Experience transitioning teams from purely manual to mixed testing approaches
