Manual QA Engineer

PayPilot is a fast-growing fintech startup building the next generation of solutions for seamless B2B and B2C international payments. We're developing the product from scratch, and quality is a top priority. We're looking for a Manual QA Engineer with a strong focus on API and backend testing to join our team and help ensure stability, accuracy, and a smooth user experience from the inside out.

 

 What you’ll do:

 

  • Manually test RESTful APIs using tools like Postman, Swagger, etc.
  • Validate request/response formats, HTTP status codes, and backend business logic
  • Identify bugs, inconsistencies, and edge cases — and report them clearly
  • Write and maintain test cases, checklists, and documentation
  • Work closely with developers and product managers to clarify requirements and expected behavior
  • Perform regression testing of backend components
  • Analyze logs, inspect database records (optionally with support), and report backend issues
  • Participate in test planning and help improve overall product quality and testing processes

     

We’re looking for someone who:

 

  • Has 2–3 years of experience in manual QA, ideally with a backend focus
  • Confidently works with Postman, Swagger, JSON, and HTTP basics
  • Understands REST APIs, response structures, and status codes
  • Writes clear bug reports and reproductions
  • Has basic SQL/logs skills or is eager to learn
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, startup environment and takes initiative

     

Nice to have:

  • Experience testing fintech products, banking APIs, or payment systems
  • Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools
  • English at a level sufficient for reading docs and writing bug reports
