Senior PHP Developer (Symfony / Pimcore)

We are looking for 1 experienced Senior PHP Developers to join a high-impact, performance-focused team for a long-term project with a German product. This role is backend-heavy, centered around Symfony and ideally Pimcore. You’ll be working closely with technical stakeholders to build, optimize, and scale backend solutions with a strong focus on system performance and architectural best practices.
 

What You’ll Do:

• Support, extend, and develop new features within the Pimcore platform, integrate external systems and modules
• Develop backend systems using PHP and Symfony
• Work on performance-critical applications
• Optimize database queries, infrastructure, and code architecture
• Integrate with PIM systems (preferably Pimcore) or headless CMS platforms
• Contribute to system design and architectural decisions

• Collaborate with engineers and architects in a backend-driven environment

   

Must-Have Requirements:

• 5–7+ years of experience in PHP backend development
• Strong hands-on experience with Symfony
• Solid understanding of CMS platforms (headless or traditional)
• Experience with Pimcore or other PIM systems 
• Proven track record of working on projects with performance optimization as a key goal (including caching, queuing, DB optimization, infrastructure tuning, etc.)
• Understanding of scalable architecture, clean code principles, and modern dev practices

• Not a template designer — we value engineers over themers

   

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with infrastructure topics (servers, deployment, cloud)
• Experience in an architectural role or interest in growing toward one
• Fluent English; German is a plus
