Senior UX/UI Designer IRC268385 Offline

Description

We are partnering with a global leader in medical devices to develop the next-generation cutting-edge tool used during hip arthroscopy for femoroacetabular impingement (FAI). Client provides surgeons with real-time visualization and measurement capabilities by superimposing virtual tools on X-ray images, enabling precise clinical decision-making. The product will help surgers to plan and to validate the procedures by analyzing 2D images from X-Rays, CT, MRI and building 3D objects.

Our goal is to enhance the product’s capabilities, improving workflow efficiency and advancing surgical outcomes. This project will involve refining requirements, designing intuitive interfaces, and integrating advanced visualization tools to meet the highest clinical standards. Join us in shaping the future of minimally invasive orthopedic surgery.

Requirements

– Proven experience as a UX/UI Designer with at lest 5-6 years of commercial experience, demonstrated through a strong portfolio showcasing work on complex applications (web, mobile, or desktop). Demonstrable experience designing user interfaces specifically for tablet devices and touch-based interactions.

– Experience conducting user research (interviews, surveys) and usability testing, and iterating designs based on findings. Experience creating wireframes, user flows, interactive prototypes, and detailed visual design specifications.

– Experience designing for healthcare applications, medical devices, scientific visualization, or other complex, expert-user domains. Your portfolio should ideally reflect this.

– Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, interaction design, information architecture, and visual design fundamentals.

– Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams within an Agile/Scrum environment is preferred.

– Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD). Familiarity with designing for data visualization, particularly medical imaging or 3D data is a plus.

– Knowledge of Human Factors Engineering (HFE) principles and standards relevant to medical devices (e.g., IEC 62366) is highly desired.

– Awareness of the capabilities and constraints of development frameworks like Qt (no coding required, but understanding helps collaboration) is a plus.

– Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work independently. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.

–  Excellent communication and presentation skills (English proficiency required for documentation and potential stakeholder interaction; Ukrainian proficiency is a strong asset for local team collaboration).

Job responsibilities

GlobalLogic is starting a completely new engagement and looking for a talented Senior UXUI designer to design intuitive, efficient, safe, and user-centered interfaces and workflows for the surgical planning and visualization software, ensuring a seamless experience for orthopedic surgeons using the tablet-based application in a clinical context.

– Conduct user research (interviews, contextual inquiries if feasible, surveys) with orthopedic surgeons and potentially other clinical staff to deeply understand their needs, FAI planning/surgical workflows, pain points, and context of use (including tablet interaction in clinical settings).

– Analyze research findings to create user personas, journey maps, and define key user scenarios and task flows. Plan, conduct, and analyze usability testing sessions with target users (surgeons) using prototypes and evolving software builds.

– Translate user needs and system requirements into compelling user experiences through information architecture, wireframes, low-fidelity and high-fidelity interactive prototypes specifically for a tablet interface.

– Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Software Engineers (Qt, Backend, CV), QA engineers, and potentially clinical advisors within the teams and potentially remote stakeholders.

– Design intuitive interaction models for viewing, manipulating, and annotating complex 2D and 3D medical images (X-Ray, CT, MRI).

– Develop clear and effective UI layouts, visual design elements (typography, color, iconography), and interaction patterns consistent with client’s brand guidelines and best practices for medical software clarity.

– Create detailed design specifications and assets for the development team (particularly Qt developers) based on usability test results, user feedback, and technical constraints.

– Contribute to required design documentation for regulatory submissions (e.g., usability engineering file).

– Effectively communicate design rationale, concepts, and specifications to the cross-functional team. Act as a user advocate throughout the product development lifecycle.

– Contribute to or maintain a consistent design system or style guide for the application. Stay updated on UX/UI best practices, trends, and relevant technologies, especially in healthcare, tablet interfaces, and medical visualization.
