WordPress Developer (Maintenance and Support Focus) Offline

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced WordPress Developer to manage the ongoing maintenance, emergency support, and design/development updates for our WordPress frontend. This role requires strong technical knowledge in WordPress core, PHP, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as a proactive approach to site health, performance, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance & Optimization

• Update WordPress Core via staging → verification → deployment
• Review and update plugins using staging workflows
• Conduct regular security and vulnerability scans
• Monitor and improve Web Core Vitals (e.g., caching, image optimization, CDN configuration)
• Perform regular database audits: clean transients, spam comments, post revisions, optimize tables
• Audit access and error logs; identify anomalies and escalate critical issues
• Review New Relic monitoring alerts and ensure system health
• Verify backup integrity and test full backup-restore flow on staging
• Keep site up to date with best practices for speed, SEO, and functionality

Support & Development

• Provide emergency support for outages, performance drops, or security issues
• Implement design updates and front-end changes as needed
• Build or modify custom functionality using PHP, CSS, and JavaScript
• Collaborate with internal teams to align site updates with marketing or business needs

Qualifications:

• Proven experience with WordPress development and administration
• Strong proficiency in PHP, CSS, JavaScript
• Familiarity with staging workflows and deployment best practices
• Experience with performance monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic), CDN, and caching strategies
• Strong understanding of WordPress security and database optimization
• Detail-oriented with strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
• Familiarity with Git and version control (a plus)
